Ashford & St Peter’s Patient Tracking Lists go live

20 October 2020

Cancer and Emergency Department Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs) have just gone live at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust. Beautiful Information have been working closely with staff at the trust to develop PTLs that give them what they need to support high-quality and efficient patient care.

The Cancer PTL takes data from the Trust’s PAS and Somerset’s systems. It displays the key data for the 14-day, 28-day, 31-day and 62-day pathways, showing what the next action is for each patient, plus alerts where patients are at risk of breaching their treatment targets, so that staff can identify at a glance where action is needed. The PTL also allows staff to create and edit task lists for each patient.

Sarah Dawson, Cancer Services Manager at Ashford and St Peter’s, commented: ‘Everyone managing patients on a cancer pathway should have this PTL. It will significantly improve the pathway for all patients, allow Trust-wide visibility of patients on a cancer pathway, providing live and up to date information for everyone involved in patients care. It will also help supporting services such as radiology and endoscopy manage the booking of patients; ensure that the Trust achieves performance against operational standards and make cancer services teams more efficient and proactive.’

The ED PTL also brings together data from multiple systems, so that staff can easily view the relevant information on patients in one place. It shows key metrics for Majors, Minors, Resus, Paediatrics and the trust’s Urgent Treatment Centre, as well as highlighting delays with tests or treatments, so that staff can monitor the progress of patients through the department.
